Aaron Sanchez on Chopped

Aarón Sánchez is an American chef, the executive chef and part-owner of the restaurant Centrico and owner of the Mexican restaurant Mestizo in Kansas City (Leawood, Ks). He has appeared on Iron Chef America, and is one of the few chefs whose battles have ended in a draw, tying with Masaharu Morimoto in "Battle Black Bass" in Season 2. He was a contestant on The Next Iron Chef, eliminated in the sixth test, "Creativity Under Pressure". He was co-host on the show Heat Seekers with Roger Mooking, and is a recurring judge on the show Chopped on Food Network. He has also been featured on Chefs vs. City with Chris Cosentino.


Aaron Sanchez is 36 was born on February 12, 1976 and was born in El Paso,TX. He has a twin brother named Rodrigo Sanchez, a wife named Mora Sanchez and a mother named Zarela Martinez [who is a chef also]. Aaron Sanchez has also just had a baby girl. In 1994 Aaron graduated from high school and began to work for a restauraunt called Prudhomme. After working there he came back to study culinary arts at the Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
